Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School in Clarion, Iowa incorporated Mango Classroom into their new English Learner program. “Early results are already promising” according to a local Iowa publication.
Partners since November of 2021, Mango Languages and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School made fast friends.
The need to establish an effective EL program brought CGD High School to Mango after not seeing results with other resources. In the search to find an engaging and authentic remote-ready tech solution, Superintendent Joe Nelson’s teachers recommended Mango Classroom.
Situated in Iowa’s agricultural belt, the Clarion community is seeing a steady uptick in Spanish-speaking families moving to the area. According to an article in The Wright County Monitor, a publication that covers news in the Clarion, Iowa community, there are over 70 students (20 added this year alone) that are now enrolled at CGD High School, who do not speak English.
“I think we're talking about changing lives and that's what's exciting for me.”
Joe Nelson, Superintendent of Schools, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows
