Here at Mango, we often discuss the process of readying assignees for relocation. As a global mobility manager, you know the preparation provided to assignees before their departure strongly affects the success of their relocation, and there’s no shortage of work to be done. Have you covered the responsibilities of their new role? Check. What about getting the proper paperwork in order, like passports and visas? Check. Living arrangements? Check.
Once all of these big picture tasks are taken care of, it’s time to get down to business - and by that we mean language and culture learning of course! Luckily, it’s easy to get the ball rolling with Mango. Here are a few ways you can help assignees and other global mobility managers get started with Mango:
Getting to know Mango
In order to have a better idea of how each assignee can use Mango, spend some time getting to know the product before recommending it to your assignees. Remember, they’re relying on your insight for tips and tricks to successfully navigating a move around the world. If you think they might be overwhelmed by the entire process, try suggesting which chapters and lessons will be most helpful for their relocation. Attempting to learn a new language and culture in just a short amount of time might be stressful for some of your assignees, especially amid all of the other changes they’re going through. Offering a few chapters for them to focus on just might motivate them to try Mango and get started on their language learning process.
The hardest part about getting started with Mango is choosing which language to learn first. Once your assignee has their relocation destination, all you need to do is set up their account through the Admin Portal and voila! They’ll be ready to order a post-dinner espresso (never a cappuccino) at a Roman trattoria or say “ni hao” to their new Chinese colleagues in no time.
Manage through MAP
Want to make sure your assignees are making progress with their language and culture learning? Through the Mango Administrative Portal, you can organize students all in one easy- to-access location. From here, you can also look at statistics and integrations that give you insight into how your assignees are actually using the product. Once you know all there is to know about Mango, this can help you provide lesson suggestions, movies and other ways your assignees can use Mango before their big move.
