Celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Day!

learn-pirate

Ahoy Mangos! National Talk Like a Pirate Day is September 19th and – surprise! – we’re celebrating. Aren’t we always? This tongue-in-cheek national holiday holds a special place in our hearts, so much so that we created a free course to teach you everything you need to know to “parley” in perfect Pirate. It’s a great excuse to introduce your library patrons, children, or employees (seriously, try it!) to Mango’s fun, engaging language-learning methodology. Plus, speaking in Pirate is a lot of fun. Maybe too much.

When we first debuted this course in 2011, things got a little out of hand. Mangos love language learning, and we love to have fun – and, okay, we’re a little goofy. In true Mango fashion, we embraced our new Pirate course with open arms (and costumes, and a full backdrop…), and chaos ensued. Before we knew it, pirates were abound, eye patches were passed around like candy, and bad pirate jokes were running rampant. So basically, it was the best day of the year.

But we’re not alone in our love of all things Pirate: our library patrons, homeschool families, and corporate clients are totally on board. We’re looking at you River East Library, Homeschool Encouragement, Denver Library, and the lawyers over at the Georgetown Law Library. We want an invite to the school’s next theme party – we’ve been prepping our best Pirate party tricks.

Fun, engaging specialty courses like this are the perfect opportunity to introduce Mango Languages to your patrons. We’ll provide the language-learning and the free downloadable resources to promote your Pirate party; you just sit back and enjoy the journey to greatness. But you’ve been warned: proceed carefully, or your crewmates may quickly stage a mutiny. And by that, we mean your patrons, students, or employees may rapidly devolve into speaking exclusively in Pirate, waving around plastic swords, and taking selfies. It happened to us, so it can happen to you.

Consider this your call to action. Join the movement, and enrich the lives of others with language, culture, and pirate parrrrties. Our clients have recruited some of their most loyal lifelong Mangos through our fun and easy Pirate course, and they’ve been known to graduate on to master Spanish, Scottish Gaelic, Swahili, and more. What are you waiting for? Try out Mango’s Pirate Course and have your very own swashbuckling Pirate party – no landlocked lubbers need attend.
